“Love lost and found, love unrequited; it wouldn’t be right without a little Greek tragedy in the mix. Sherry does a great job entwining your emotions with that of the main character, Grace Archer. There are also great adventures still to be had and as Grace’s powers are on the fritz, she comes to rely more on James, a guardian to the gods. After a tragic trip into Hades’ lair, Grace focuses her pain into her mission of revenge on Samael. It’s hard to know who to trust sometimes, and there is definitely some funny business going on, but Grace also needs to take some time to learn her powers and trust her instincts even if it means making the hard decisions. I definitely am looking forward to HINDSIGHT (Book III) in The Gods of Fate Series.” ~ reviewed by Morgan Wylie for ParaYourNormal [FIVE STARS]
“Sherry Ficklin brought everything together in this second book of her Gods of Fate series. The tension increases and more details of Grace’s life comes to light. Can’t wait for the next!” ~ reviewed by R. Stevenson [FIVE STARS]
“SECOND SIGHT was both a wonderful continuation of the first, Foresight, as well as a great setup for the third, Hindsight. Faced paced and exciting, it’s hard to put down once it’s been picked up. The story is well plotted, with surprising twists and outrageous turns that leave the reader eagerly awaiting the next in the series. Recommendable for anyone 12+, as it’s a young adult story, but easily enjoyable by all ages! Can’t wait for the next book!” ~ reviewed by Scudhunt [FIVE STARS]
“I loved the first book in this trilogy, FORESIGHT, but SECOND SIGHT truly surpassed my expectations. The characters become more developed with deeper emotions as they continue on their journey. You will find yourself rooting for the greater good and crying at the tragedies that befall the heroine, Grace Archer. All through the book the Author leaves you wanting more, anticipating the turn of a page as well as the next novel!” ~ reviewed by C. Bowley [FIVE STARS]
“Author Sherry Ficklin, has a knack for Greek mythology! SECOND SIGHT, the second book in her Gods of Fate series, pits the daughter of Pandora and Prometheus against a fallen God. Ficklin’s trademark wit and gift for dialogue will have readers wishing the story doesn’t have to end. Readers will enjoy the portrayal of the Gods and how Ficklin is able to make them seem like real people instead of figureheads. Readers who love mythology will find this one hard to put down! I recommend this one to readers who love YA fantasy and mythology. I think readers will enjoy Ficklin’s depictions of the Gods and her ability to make them seem more real. I look forward to the third book, HINDSIGHT coming out and continuing this great series. I’m giving this one 5 out of 5 apples from my book bag!” ~ reviewed by Deb’s Book Blog [FIVE STARS]
“In SECOND SIGHT, Sherry Ficklin creates wonderful characters. They are realistic enough to relate to and imaginative enough to inspire you. She puts her fantastic characters into situations and settings that keep you turning the pages. This installment of the Gods of Fate series is filled with wonder, deceit, sacrifice, love, trials, sorrow, and mystery. I can’t wait for the next book, HINDSIGHT!” ~ reviewed by B. “Sherry Ficklin is the author of The Gods of Fate series, a young adult fantasy trilogy following Grace Archer. I read the first book in the series, FORESIGHT, last August and loved it. So I was excited to read SECOND SIGHT as soon as it came out… I loved SECOND SIGHT as much as I loved FORESIGHT. Sherry Ficklin does a fantastic job bringing together modern contemporary fantasy with Greek/ Roman mythology. Though the book is being marketed as YA (Young Adult), the complexity of the story and the maturity of the lead character kept me entertained and turning the pages. In fact, I felt it was a much more mature novel than some other YA stories I’ve read. I highly recommend picking up this series. But you have to read FORESIGHT first. SECOND SIGHT is equally as good, but it’s not truly a stand-alone novel. Start with FORESIGHT, read them both, and you won’t be disappointed. [P.S.: The final installment of The Gods of Fate trilogy, HINDSIGHT, is slated to be released early next year. I can’t wait to read the completion of the saga!]” ~ reviewed by Megan Haskell [FOUR STARS]
